About us
A brief video of who we are and our mission.
What we do and how we help.
The Informed Citizen Project is a nonpartisan initiative dedicated to educating and empowering voters in La Porte County, Indiana. We believe an informed community is a stronger community, and that understanding local government is essential to meaningful civic participation.
Our mission is to provide clear, factual, and easy-to-understand information about local offices, elected officials, elections, and public spending. Local government decisions affect our daily lives, yet they are often the least understood. We work to bridge that gap by breaking down complex topics into straightforward, accessible content.
Through educational posts, visual graphics, and practical resources, we help residents understand how local government works, who represents them, and how to take part in the voting process. We do not endorse candidates or political parties—our focus is education, transparency, and civic responsibility.
The Informed Citizen Project exists to encourage informed decision-making, increased voter engagement, and a more connected and knowledgeable La Porte County.
